Sensitivity, Spontaneity & Creativity: The Fundamental Bases of Social Relations

For many years of my life, I felt that being “too sensitive” was a weakness. People often questioned my visionary ideas, my philosophical writings, my passion for epic movies, rituals, and human connection. When I began studying Psychodrama, Anthroposophy, and Social Communication at their roots, I found evidence that brought me peace of mind:
my sensitivity was not a flaw. It was a form of intelligence.
When I was studying journalism, I´ve spent countless nights mapping sustainability initiatives around the world - so I could write about them and make people aware that things were somehow getting better for our planet. That was back when the internet in Brazil had just arrived (96/97).
Later, through environmental education, studies and projects, as well as producing cultural events, I could be graced with the truth that still drives me:
to care for the planet, we must first learn to care for people. Environmental Education only becomes effective when the community is safe and healthy.
Since then, sensitivity became my compass — in communication, in art, in leadership, and in every social project I built.

During the pandemic, art saved me from anxiety more times than I can count. It showed me that creativity is not decoration; it is survival.
And when I last worked as Head of Communications, trying to make sense of my 20+ years of experience, I realized something fundamental: all my paths — Journalism, Cultural Projects, Psychodrama, Sustainability, Environmental Education, Ecotourism, Art and Anthroposophy, converged into one conclusion:
👉 Sensitivity is my superpower.
👉 And it is the missing link in the future of work.
Educating for Sensitivity: The Urgent Agenda
Educating for sensitivity means teaching people to notice rhythms, emotions, and atmospheres, just as much as they notice spreadsheets and KPIs.

We live in a culture that teaches us to hide fragility. Think of the social reflex to laugh when someone falls in public — the same reflex we see today in the ruthless “cancel culture” on social media.
From childhood, we learn to perform strength, not to show our pain. Business has absorbed this logic and scaled it: efficiency without vulnerability, performance without humanity.
But the cost is tremendous. Burnout spreads. Trust collapses. People detach. AI promises efficiency at superhuman speed, but it also threatens to deepen the illusion that humanity is dispensable.
This is why educating for sensitivity in business is not a luxury. It is urgent. And it is not therapy, nor “soft skills tokenism.” It is a new literacy for organizations.
And this is why art becomes a weapon of expression:

The Bases of Social Relations

Psychodrama, since the pioneering work of Jacob Levy Moreno, has revealed that social health depends on spontaneity and encounter.
Socionomy, the science of social relations (also known as Psychodrama), reminds us that sensitivity, spontaneity, and creativity are not luxuries but the very foundation of human relations.
Without sensitivity, there is no true perception of the other.
Without spontaneity, no genuine response to life’s challenges.
Without creativity, no transformation of reality itself.
Translated into organizational life:
Sensitivity is the nervous system of a company. It allows us to perceive the environment and to read the emotional dynamics of its living system, from the individual to the collective perspective.
Creativity is what transforms fragments into coherence, problems into solutions, and mere survival into purpose. It doesn’t appear by accident — it can be trained and cultivated.
These qualities define what can be called organizational intelligence.
Intelligence in business is not only the capacity to process data — machines already do that better than us.
Intelligence is the ability to sense, adapt, and create together.
Sensitivity as Strategy
It is time to observe the transition we are going through. The future of work will not be defined by the fastest algorithms or the most optimized processes alone.

The future of work will be defined by whether organizations can remain human while navigating complexity.
